Well it is looking like I may have mailed my passport off to oblivion. I needed additional pages added to my passport. Here in Amsterdam you can have this done at the Consulate and you can mail it in. You have to supply a self-addressed envelop and stamp for them to mail it back. I rather stupidly did not realize that you could also send it registered mail and also provide a registered self-addressed return envelop. Somehow I got this confused something on the website about not being able to send it by courier.
I've actually sent my passport in before this way, but this time I was very nervous about doing it. However I thought it would save having to go into the consulate which is a fortress these days. Alas, it's now been going on two weeks and well over the period when they normally return these things. Which totally sucks. I think I will give it another couple days and then bite the bullet and report the thing missing & apply for a new one.
Sigh. Stupid!

Blech. That is the kind of thing I will beat myself up over FOREVER. I hope it turns up
Alas, not looking that way RM. I got confirmation from the consulate that they mailed it back to me ages ago. It only takes post a day or two in Amsterdam, so it's almost certainly stolen. SUCKS! My big fear is identity theft. :(
It will arrive today.
Ale - I think that's too uncanny. Did YOU have a hand in this???
