Well it's Thursday - time to talk about my digestive system! As dutifully reported in the Weekend Roundup this week, Sunday was a bit of a downer when I came down with a stomach/cold-y bug. It persisted into Monday. I basically felt nauseous with a cold all day. It sucks to lose all your energy, especially when you have lots of plans. I didn't feel like doing anything. I napped - the true sign that I am sick since I am sadly unable to nap during the day. Neither food nor drink felt happy going down so I didn't try either.
Tuesday woke up feeling a world better and without a second thought I went to work. What I wasn't counting on was the aftermath of a couple days stomachy weirdness, though logically it makes perfect sense. Without going into too much detail, let us say that Tuesday saw difficulties in the less glamorous, lower half of our digestive system. I won't elaborate too much since I am accused often by certain spouses of TMI. Instead I shall leave it to your imagination and then take that whole concept back because I'd rather you not imagine anything at all thank you very much.
ANYWAYS - without getting sidetracked into too much sophomoric humor*, all of this was a bit of surprise to me because in general this is one part of my body that rarely has problems. Memory, various joints, muscles, all go haywire all the time. But the good old lower digestive system can always be counted on**. Like I said, it was very normal considering I'd not had much of anything at all the day before, but I was completely unprepared. Thank goodness it was not a mommy day or I don't know what I would have done.
*poop! tee hee hee
** people, you need to eat more fruit and veg, that's all I'm saying.
